Senior Structural Analysis Engineer

Job description

The ideal candidate will work in the Structural team to support the hardware development by usage of virtual tools. It is required a strong background on structural aspects (linear and not linear) and excellent knowledge of commercial tools for FEM analysis: HyperWorks and Abaqus Suite (including Abaqus CAE, Viewer and Fe-Safe post processor).

He/she'll be able to assume the following activities:

  • preparation of FEM model
  • execution of computational structural analysis for linear and not linear problems
  • processing and understanding of analysis results
  • proposal of design changes to improve the structural behavior of mechanical systems for Engines, Transmissions, E-Axle, etc., based on analysis results
  • final report preparation
  • work with System Integration Engineer to define timing and deliverables for each assigned project
  • support junior colleagues in Structural Analysis team to effectively execute their job by sharing not standard methodologies
  • knowledgeable in the computational analysis activity he is working on, fully accountable when dealing with both internal and external interfaces

Knowledge and education:

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Automotive/Mechanical Engineering or Physics (PhD preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of structural physics based on analysis (10+ years working experience preferred)
  • FEM analysis tools (HyperWorks and Abaqus Suite, including Abaqus CAE, Viewer and Fe-Safe post processor)
  • Knowledge of optimization and automation tools
  • Fluent English both spoken and written
