Technology system engineer - Electric motors

Job description

The selected candidate will be responsible to support PUNCH organization executing advanced engineering activities. Primary purpose of the position and description of the major expected results or objectives include the following:

  • Working closely with the Technology Area Leader to build products and services that add value to PUNCH’s internal and external customers in the area of Electric Motors
  • Design/specification/optimization of Electric Motors, simulation of components and optimization of performance against customer requirements
  • Plan and execute Advanced Engineering projects: propose innovative new ideas, build business cases, prepare review material, present ideas for approval, manage and execute projects, track budget and project spending
  • Work with wider team, Technology Specialist, Technology Area Leader, and internal/external customer to be aligned in terms of deliverables and contents of projects

The Skills

  • PhD degree in Electric Motors related topic
  • Deep understanding of Electric Motors categories and topologies, innovative/hybrid solutions and research and development trends
  • Deep understanding of Electric Motors’ components and their interaction
  • Experience with Simulation and Optimization tools for Electric Motors design
  • Knowledge of Electric Motors materials, design, manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of Electric Motors system/component market (suppliers / customers, performances, technical data sheets, etc)
  • Understanding of Electric Motors control and related power electronics
