Technology System Engineer – Catalysts and emissions


Job description

The ideal candidate will strengthen the Advanced Engineering team and support the Aftertreatment Roadmap and Technology Availability Plan (TAP), to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions for future mobility products.

He/she'll be accountable for the following activities:

  • Work with the Combustion and Aftertreatment Technology Area Leaders (TAL) to develop new technologies
  • Manage projects of in-house and/or out-sourced activities to support Advanced Engineering projects
  • Define modeling requirements (together with Project Leader) according to project goals
  • Define simulation plans and inputs needed from experimental activities 
  • Data analysis (trends evaluation, performances optimization, cost/performance study) and presentation (synthetize information through effective data plot)
  • Understand the competitive landscape, including benchmarking
  • Monitor/track industry trends, including Supplier developments
  • Contribute to the PUNCH product technology roadmap evolution
  • Contribute to technical publications and active participation to congresses

The Skills

  • Master Degree in Chemical, Materials or Energy Engineering, Chemistry or Physics – PhD in Chemical or Energy Engineering or similar is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of advanced catalyst technologies for ICE emissions control systems, reactors, fuel cells, and electrolyzes
  • Good knowledge of 1D and 3D simulation tools (e.g. GT-suite, Star-CCM+ or similar) and Python/ Matlab
  • Good knowledge of advanced fuels low- or zero-carbon and their storage technologies for ICE and fuel cells
  • Knowledge of catalyst control strategies for both automotive, marine and stationary applications
  • Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines and their development, design, analysis and calibration
  • Basic knowledge of Heavy-Duty On-Road and Off-road applications
