Industrial PhD Position in Virtual Prototyping and Behavioral Modelling of AI Accelerators at Dumarey Softronix and Politecnico di Torino

Position Type: Full-time (100%)

Location: Torino, Italy

Start Date: January 1, 2025, or upon agreement

The candidate, chosen through a formal PhD selection process, will then be hired as a Dumarey Softronix Employee.

What You'll Do

• This PhD position is part of 17 openings within the MSCA Doctoral Network "Training and Innovation in Reliable and Efficient Chip Design".
• You will have access to a specialized European PhD training program led by industry and academic experts.
• You will develop strong expertise in the field of Virtual Prototyping.
• You will undertake secondments with industrial and academic partners. The Politecnico di Torino will be the institution awarding your PhD.
• You will be required to spend part of the PhD duration at the offices of other partners of the project

Hard and Soft Skills Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Physics, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in modelling and simulation of electronic systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages.
• Experience with SystemC and ISS (Qemu) is a plus (Optional).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Basic knowledge of microprocessors, microcontrollers, SoC (System on Chip) architectures, serialization protocols, etc.
• Familiarity with hardware description languages for concurrent processes (e.g., VHDL/Verilog).
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.

Phd Requirements

To apply, the following requirements need to be met:

Requirement 1 (MSCA DN supported researchers): Applicants must not be already in possession of a doctoral degree (or in the process) at the date of the recruitment.

Requirement 2 (MSCA DN mobility rule): Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Italy for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their date of recruitment.

Requirement 3 (specialisation): Candidates should have an MSc (or equivalent) degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial intelligence, Innovation Management or related areas. Experience in the research scope of TIRAMISU is a vital asset.

Requirement 4 (English): Proficiency in English is mandatory.
