Controls System Engineer

The Tasks

The selected candidate will be the responsible for control system functional development within Diesel Function Development Group.

Primary purpose of the position and description of the major expected results or objectives include the following:

• Develop diesel specific control feature, leading related testing activities at engine test bench/HIL/vehicle

• Data analysis process, utilizing common methodologies (DFSS, SDSS, DFMEAs, FMEA, etc…) and identifying solutions for incoming issues/roadblocks

• Definition and revision of diesel control subsystem requirements, software specifications and documentation (SSTS, Calibration Procedures&Tools,…)

• Engine management system architecture analysis

• Review and approve component level control requirements

• Projects management support in terms of system development, organization and planning

• Attend global forum in order to share best practice

• Assist in the troubleshooting of subsystem integration and test

• Work closely with the calibration community, to support the coordination of calibration activities and the analysis of deviations to calibration procedure / best practices with Calibration Specialists, attending road test when requested.

The Skills

• Master degree in Mechanical, Automation, Electronic Engineering or similar

• At least 3 years of experience in GM, preferably in engine controls/calibration/analysis areas

• Knowledge in diesel engines, and engine control system development tools like Matlab, Simulink

• Knowledge of main instrumentation devices used in the testing area (Test bench/HIL/roller bench/emissions/combustion measurement)

• Fluent English, both written and spoken
